Classify and Count

Classify and Count

By Kindergarten, children will be asked to Classify objects into given categories; count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count.

Melissa and Doug boxes can be colored with crayons and used for color sorting.

Using a handful of objects, Grey decided which color to put the object into.

Lastly, we counted the amount of colors in each color category.

By Kindergarten, children will be asked to Identify whether the number of objects in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of objects in another group.

One way to increase the level of difficulty is to discuss how many more and less are in each color box.
