Brown Bear, Brown Bear, So Many To See!
By Kindergarten, children will be asked to demonstrate with prompting and support, to describe the relationship between illustrations and the story in which they appear.
Kindergarteners will also be asked to be familiar with informational text.
Combine these two concepts with Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See and viewing pictures online to view images of brown bears.
- Begin by reading the children's literature book, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?. Allow your preschooler to read the book several times. Your preschooler will begin to catch on to the repetition of words as you read.
- After several reads, begin to search google images of brown bears.
- Keep both images up at the same time.
- Begin to discuss similarities and differences with your preschooler.
This activity will help display fictional and informational text and images.
