Little Fingers Friday - Fine Motor Grip
Fine Motor Skills Practice Helps:
- Control small muscles in your toddler's hands
- Coordinate eye-hand movement
It is important to allow your toddler practice with eye-hand movement. This activity requires lining up the two objects with accuracy.
Below is the same fine motor activity, practiced in TWO different ways.
The first fine motor activity involves a purchased wood bench. This came with predrilled holes. (side note, I purchased this workbench from Goodwill for $8) My toddler practiced lining up the screw with the predrilled holes. This took coordination and concentration.
The second activity practices the same concept, DIY style. I used the screws from the workbench and cut holes into a milk carton.
Again, my toddler had to concentrate on lining up both objects. Since this activity, he has revisited the milk carton on his own many times. This one is my personal favorite!
