Flash Light I Spy
Here is that eye chart again! This time, grab a flashlight to play, "I Spy".
By Kindergarten, children will be asked to recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet. This game allows practice with letters out of sequence. I also like how the letters have different font sizes.
The chart was purchased at Paper Source. I hung it at eye-level for my preschooler to touch and observe.
Right now, Grey is fascinated with flashlights. This exploratory play allows preschoolers to explore light and shadows along with letters. .
- Begin by having your preschooler stand at other end.
- Take turn naming the letters the flash light falls upon.
- Do not be discouraged if your preschooler goes astray with the flashlight. There is so much to explore with this tool.
- Encourage them to seek what they are interested in. Remember, you can always revisit the intended game at any time. Watch and observe your preschooler as they share with you their interests. It may lead to another genius idea!
