Headed Out of Town?
OUT OF TOWN TIPS AND FREE PRINTABLE.
There are many thoughts that come to mind when (finally) heading out of town without the kids. For me it is a combination of "Freedom!!, and Oh, wait. What will I do without them?, What if something happens?" (Insert small amount of mom guilt)
However, I can rest assured that they are in good hands when I am more prepared for my departure.
Read below for a couple useful tricks and a printable to help you organize all of your information before heading out.
TIP #1 - Food Prep
I can prepare meals ahead of time and stick them in the freezer. For me, Grey has a peanut allergy, so this is HUGE. It means that I know exactly what he is eating.
Here I made pancakes ahead of time, placed them in parchment bags, and put them in the freezer.
TIP #2 - Leave Information
FREE PRINTABLE BELOW!
There is never too much information you can leave. Remember, your caregiver does not live in your home and does not know all emergency locations like you do.
Here is a FREE Printable that you can download to help leave all important information. This printable allows information to be left for up to three children!
- Allergy Information
- Helpful Phrases Your Preschooler Says that Caregivers may not Understand
- School Information
- Important Passcodes
- Plus much more. - Take a look!
TIP #3 - LEAVE A PICTURE
Keep a simple picture of your family near your preschooler and toddler's bed for when you are away. This will remind them of the love you all share and that you are thinking of them.
TIP #4 - Relax, enjoy, vacation
Perhaps this is a reminder to myself, but it is important to know that you chose the best caregivers for your children and they will be okay. In fact, they will probably have a fantastic time and not even want to Face Time you. - Which we all know, is a great sign that they too, are relaxed, and having a great time.
