Check Out This Preschool Primary Color Mix Up

Invitations to play can be silent set-ups that naturally engage a preschooler to play.

This particular preschool activity explores the mixing of primary colors. I also added white for Grey to explore lightening up the colors he created.

Which Concepts Will Your Preschooler Explore?

  • transformation of color
  • motion of water
  • sound of water from one container to another
  • prediction
  • cause and effect
  • fine motor hand strength

Set Up:

Begin by adding a drop of paint to each glass container that is filled with water. Remember glass can break. However, most preschoolers will understand when they are using a delicate object and will be extra careful. Use your discretion based on your preschooler and stay near by.

Add Medicine Droppers or Eyedroppers to Begin the Preschool Exploration:

*I do realize these medicine droppers look strange to be used, however they work wonderfully with this invitation. Again, use your discretion to which tool best suites your preschooler.

Step Aside and Let The Preschool Exploration Begin:

Allow This Activity to Organically Progress. Most Likely, Dumping of Water Will Also Be Involved. :)
