Preschool Ghost Counting Game
Inside: Preschool number activity for Halloween Breakfast Invitation fun
Googly eyes, Ghosts, Oh my!
Who wants another Breakfast Invitation?
I know I do! Breakfast Invitations are what save my morning sanity.
...and this fun preschool number activity is the perfect addition to your morning routine.
Confused about what a Breakfast Invitation is? This post will help get you started.
Setting up is so simple!
I like to set up Breakfast Invitations the night before so they are ready to be played as I drink my hot tea and prepare breakfast for my 3 little guys the following morning.
Materials (affiliate links)
Allow your preschooler time to decide how to play.
Before sharing how to play with your preschooler, allow him to assess the materials in front of him and decide what should go where.
Our Materials were already divided - googly eyes and wooden numbers
- First placed the numbers
- Next glued the eyes
- Last, lost focus and began to draw. Do not be discouraged when this happens! Allow your preschooler to take breaks when they are mentally in need of a new activity. You can always revisit this again at lunchtime!
WHY are Preschool Counting Games Important to Practice NOW?
By Kindergarten, children will be asked to:
- Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20
- Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
- Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger.
This is a great game to begin to explore these concepts!
