How Does Your Preschooler Mimic Mommy?
This post was sponsored by Neutrogena to help spread the word about their #mimicmommy Campaign and Holderness Family’s YouTube video to encourage daily use of sunscreen. As always, the content and opinions expressed are my own.
Did You Know?
Nearly one quarter of parents of children under 18 years old (22%) don’t know that a few painful sunburns during childhood can double a person’s odds of getting skin cancer later in life?
If only I could turn back time and talk to my younger years.
How many of you have a little friend that does everything you do? I do! For better or worse goes a lot further than just marriage vows. But this particular habit of applying daily sunscreen is one that I will always make an effort to model for my boys to help create a sun-safe generation.
The statistics are frightening!
I am thrilled to partner with @neutrogena who recently conducted this survey online with Harris Poll and have also recently launched their #mimicmommy MOVEment campaign. I vow to make applying sunscreen a fun, every day habit for me and my boys.
Their survey conducted online by Harris Poll also found more than 4 in 5 parents of children under 18 years old say their children do not wear sunscreen on a daily basis.
I confess I am guilty of not applying daily sunscreen before joining this campaign.
But, Neutrogena’s variety of sunscreens makes it easy for me and my family to want to apply sunscreen. My personal favorites? Beach Defense and Sheer Zinc. Both have a smooth texture which makes it easier for us all to apply evenly.
Beach Defense is also great for active families like us. (Even with a newborn I am itching to get off the couch and get moving), and powerful enough to protect the skin from the sun’s most damaging effects. Sheer Zinc is a great mineral sunscreen option for babies/kids.
So, who’s with me, Grey, Hayes and Little Will?
I know the hilarious Holderness Family is.
In addition to help support this important cause, Neutrogena will donate $10K to the Children’s Melanoma Prevention Foundation.
